Governor of Enugu State, PETER MBAH, has congratulated Enugu Rangers International Football Club on winning their ninth league title and second under his administration, stating that the players and management of the club have made the people of the state proud and written their names in gold by following the path of legends.

Rangers lifted the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, trophy yesterday after defeating hosts, Ikorodu City Football Club, 2-1 at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos, to finish the season with 68 points, ahead of Rivers United, which recorded 67 points after defeating Katsina United 3-0 in Port Harcourt on the same day.

Reacting to the development, the governor conveyed his profound congratulations to the Flying Antelopes on their well-deserved and hard-fought ninth league title, which is also the second under MBAH’s administration.

He added that Rangers’ triumph was a major reward for the investments made by his administration in the club and sports development in general, noting that the victory also serves as a morale booster ahead of the 27th National Sports Festival, which Enugu is scheduled to host in November this year.
