KWANKWASO GIVES REASON FOR ALLIGNING WITH PETER OBI

Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), RABIU KWANKWASO has explained the reason behind his political alliance with PETER OBI, saying the partnership is aimed at promoting national unity and good governance.

Speaking during an interview yesterday, KWANKWASO said the North is returning to the political tradition established by Nigeria’s founding leaders, including ABUBAKAR TAFAWA BALEWA and AHMADU BELLO.

According to KWANKWASO, the South-East has remained a trusted partner of the North, adding that both regions share a common interest in moving the country forward.

He stated that consultations were held with northern political leaders to identify a credible and capable partner committed to national development, and PETER OBI emerged as the preferred choice because of his leadership qualities and perceived integrity.

He added that his past experience working with leaders from the South-East during his time in the House of Representatives also influenced his decision
