The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has fixed 10 additional days to conclude the trial of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, GODWIN EMEFIELE, over alleged corruption linked to the naira redesign policy.

The trial dates fixed by the court are February 3 and 10; April 1 and 2; May 11, 12, 13 and 14; as well as June 9 and 10.

The case, instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), commenced in 2024 and is expected to be concluded within the scheduled period.

Justice Maryanne Anenih fixed the dates following an agreement between counsel to the EFCC, ROTIMI OYEDEPO (SAN), and counsel to EMEFIELE, OLALEKAN OJO(SAN).

The judge urged both parties to adhere strictly to the trial schedule, assuring them that the court would make the necessary arrangements to accommodate the proceedings.
