President BOLA TINUBU has announced plans to clear his schedule in order to visit Benue State on Wednesday, June 18, to commiserate with the people, following last Saturday’s deadly attack in Yelewata community that claimed many lives.
TINUBU stated this yesterday when he inaugurated the Greater Abuja Water Supply Network in the nation’s capital, where he sympathized with the people of Benue State and those who lost their loved ones in the attacks, urging the people of the state to manage their diversity, anger, and frustration and live as one united people.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, BAYO ONANUGA, the president had in preparation for the visit, dispatched the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, heads of intelligence agencies, the National Security Adviser, and the Chairmen of the Senate and House Defence Committees to Benue State.
During his visit, TINUBU is expected to hold a town hall meeting with all stakeholders to seek lasting solutions to the hostilities.
This comes after several opposition figures including ATIKU ABUBAKAR and PETER OBI had criticised the President for not visiting the people of Benue State, despite the killing of scores of residents in Yelewata community, Guma Local Government Area of Benue state by suspected herdsmen.
