The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has signed the state’s 1.1 trillion Naira 2025 budget into law.
Fubara, a few days ago, presented the budget to the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led House of Assembly.
Speaking yesterday after signing the budget into law, the Governor, commended the Oko-Jumbo-led State Assembly for doing a good job, insisting that the only duly recognized House of Assembly existing in the state was the one led by Oko-Jumbo.
Additionally, Fubara stated that Martins Amaewhule and 26 other members, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, can no longer be recognised as legislators, despite their recent efforts at recanting their actions.
He stressed that after giving the Amaewhule group, who are supporters of former Rivers state Governor and FCT minister Nyesom Wike, sufficient time to reassess their position, the decision to disqualify them is final and irreversible.
