The Governor of Enugu State Peter Mba yesterday assumed office as the fifth Executive Governor of the State after he took his oath of office at the Micheal Okpara Square, Enugu, administered by the Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice Raymond Ozoemena.
Shortly after the inaugural events at Micheal Okpara Square, he proceeded to Government House Sentinel and inspected a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of Nigerian Police after which he moved into the Exco Chambers, Lion Building Enugu, and signed three Executive Orders.
The first one was Executive Order 001, of 2023titled An Order For The Development Of Citizens Chatter,
Second, Executive Order 002 was an Order for the Removal of Unauthorized Street Barriers across the State within One Hundred Days’ in line with his electioneering promises.
The third order is his mission as contained in his manifesto, To Make Enugu State the Preferred Destination for Investors by creating and making policies that are business-friendly.
Urban radio correspondent, Ifeyinwa Ogbue who was present at the first official function, said the signing of the executive was witnessed by some members of the transition committee.
