Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen’s goal against Eintracht Frankfurt in the round 16 second leg tie has been voted UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week.
UEFA disclosed this on their verified Twitter handle on Friday.
Osimhen’s goal was picked ahead of strikes from Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The Nigerian striker bagged a brace as Napoli defeated Frankfurt 3-0 to advance 5-0 on an aggregate and it was a goal to behold as Osimhen gave Napoli the lead deep into first-half stoppage after jumping high to head home a cross from the right.
The 24-year-old who was in the running for the Champions League Player of the Week which was awarded to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland went on to score the second before Piotr Zielinski added the third from the penalty spot.
