Real Madrid forward VINICIUS JUNIOR has apologised to his teammates and supporters following his dismissal in the club’s 1-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona.

The Brazilian received a red card after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review revealed that he had pulled defender NATHAN SALIBA’s hair, prompting the referee to disallow what would have been his second goal of the match.

VINICIUS subsequently issued an apology on social media, while Villarreal defender JUAN FOYTH agreed that the offence deserved a red card but suggested that the Real Madrid forward had no intention of causing harm.
