The presidential candidate of the Labor Party LP, Peter Obi says he is challenging Bola Tinubu’s victory at the February 25 presidential election.
Obi, in a television interview yesterday claimed he was not interested in challenging the outcome of the election but in the process that led to the declaration of Tinubu as the president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
Earlier yesterday the legal team of the Labor Party comprising 60 lawyers led by Livy Uzoukwu stormed the office of INEC in Abuja to inspect materials used for the February 25 presidential election.
The meeting with INEC officials, held at the Commission’s national headquarters, was aimed at commencing the process of inspection of electoral materials.
While receiving the team of lawyers in Abuja, Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, assured of the Commission’s readiness to provide all documents needed to prosecute its case at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, insisting that they have nothing to hide.
