The presidency has said the criticism of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari by former President Olusegun Obasanjo was borne out of frustration and jealousy, adding that his attitude was the height of selfishness and little short of moral filth.
The Senior Special assistant to the president on media and Publicity Garba Shehu in his response yesterday to Obasanjo’s letter of endorsement of the Presidential Candidate of the Labor Party Peter Obi and the criticism of Buhari’s Government said his principal stands miles ahead of Obasanjo in all fields of national development, which he couldn’t stand.
Shehu also reminded pundits that Buhari just completed the world-class edifice, the Second Niger Bridge after three decades of failed promises and it is now awaiting commissioning.
Also taking a swipe at the former President, Shehu accused him of lying to the Southeast to get their votes, stressing that the incumbent President, Buhari lost their votes but mustered the courage to build the bridge because he believed it is the right thing to do.
He said Buhari has been emphasizing that he will supervise a better election than the one that brought him to the office and to leave as and when due.
