The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress AAC, RAY Kene Ogbodo, yesterday said political aspirants in the country should possess leadership qualifications to increase their chances of winning elections and function effectively as political leaders.
The governorship aspirant, who was a guest on the Urban Radio political program The Parliament, stressed the need for political office holders and aspirants to understand the principles of leadership to lead the nation effectively.
Speaking on the failure of many politicians to deliver on their campaign promises, Ogbodo said those who fail to fulfill their promises, simply lack determination and integrity and such behavior promotes corruption in governance.
Felix from Enugu, who called in to contribute to the program advised candidates of political parties to ensure they engage in development projects that would engineer grassroots support for them before the election to gain popularity as well as votes.
The AAC gubernatorial candidate expressed his party’s readiness for the governorship campaigns which will kick off on October 12, 2022.
