Police Arrest Man Who Defrauds POS Operators with Charm in Anambra State.

Police Public relation officer in Anambra State DSP Toochukwu Ikenga has confirmed the arrest of a man named Chisom Nweke who allegedly uses charms to defraud Point of Service POS operators in Awka.

The man armed with charms cuts plain white papers to the size of naira notes and gives them to POS operators to deposit in an account, while the operators only realize that the supposed monies were mere papers after they have transferred to accounts supplied by the alleged fraudster.

Ikenga said police Operatives yesterday at about 9 am arrested the 26-year-old man at Umuawulu, Awka along the Amawbia roundabout and he confessed to the use of charm to defraud POS operators within Awka and its environs.

The command said there are suspicions that Nweke works with a syndicate comprising other members, and that efforts are being made to arrest other gang members.
