The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria are through to the final of the WAFU B U-17 Championship after rallying back from a goal down to beat Cote D’ivoire 3-1 in their semi-final clash at the Cape Coast Stadium yesterday evening.

The Golden Eaglets also booked a spot at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations following the win.

The Ivorians took the lead from the penalty spot in the second minute, but the ever-impressive Eaglets fought their way back with Emmanuel Michael netting the equalizer from a free-kick on the half hour mark, before taking the lead for the first time in the game with yet another free kick two minutes before the break.

The Nduka Ugbade’s then put the game beyond the Ivorians a minute after the hour mark when Abdullahi Abubakar Idris nodded home from a free kick.
