His 2021 PANDEMIC EP was a response to the isolating impact of COVID-19 lockdowns, driven by Gen Z’s youthful energy.
In 2022, Ruger set the music scene ablaze with “The Second Wave” EP, artfully blending hit-making prowess with nods to social media’s influence on Afropop culture. Ruger emerged as a dynamic rising star amidst tales of love and newfound fame.
However, Ruger’s 2023 debut full-length project, “RU The World,” departs from the conventional bravado. It offers a textured, introspective journey into his world, revealing his multifaceted identity.
In his own words, he explains, “I think people will now get a deeper insight into who I am. There were parts of my life I didn’t talk about because I wasn’t ready. That made me feel a bit misunderstood at times. This album lets me open up, share my thoughts and experiences, and give a full story behind everything I’ve done and what I’m doing now. There were things I held back, and now, I’ve let them out through this album.”
