Al Nassr striker, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the 2024/2025 season as they beat Al Taawoun 2-0 in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final yesterday.

The Portuguese international doubled their lead after Ayman Ahmed opened the scoring in the eighth minute, and later, he struck again inside the area, finishing off a cutback from Sultan Al Ghanam.

With the goal, Ronaldo became the first player in recorded football history to score at least one goal in 23 consecutive seasons.

The record dates back to the 39-year-old’s first two senior career goals, when he scored a brace for his boyhood club, Sporting CP against Moreirense on October 7, 2002.

Last season, Ronaldo scored 35 goals in the league alone to break the league’s single-season scoring record, and also provided 11 assists, totaling 46 goal contributions in just 31 league appearances.
