President BOLA TINUBU has submitted several bills to the Senate for consideration, including legislation to revise the legal framework governing the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The proposed legislations were transmitted through the President of the Senate, GODSWILL AKPABIO, in line with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.

The NDLEA Bill 2026 seeks to establish a comprehensive legal framework for the agency’s operations and enhance its powers, particularly its capacity to investigate persons suspected of involvement in illicit drug-related activities.

Other proposals include the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau Amendment Bill 2026, which seeks to grant the bureau independent authority and place its supervisory oversight under the Presidency, as well as the National School of Government Bill 2026.
