PDP WINS ALL 17 CHIARMANSHIP SEATS IN ENUGU STATE

The Chairman of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, Professor CHRISTIAN NGWU, has announced that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, swept all local government chairmanship positions in the seventeen council areas of the state. 

NGWU, who is also the returning officer for the chairmanship polls, made the announcement yesterday at ENSIEC office, Independence Layout, Enugu, noting that a level playing field was provided for all the political parties in the state

Expressing joy at their victory, the chairman elect for Aninri local government area, UGOCHUKWU NWA-NJOKU, who spoke to newsmen after the announcement of the results, extended an olive branch to other candidates, promising to run an all inclusive government.

NWA-NJOKU, also highlighted cardinal areas of focus, adding that his administration will get to work immediately to achieve infrastructural development in his council area.

Urban Radio Correspondent, IFEOMA NWABUFOH, reports that the councillorship results, according to NWGU, will be declared at the ward level.
