Nollywood actress turned evangelist, Tonto Dikeh has expressed concern over the growing rate of drug addiction among young people, describing substance abuse as one of the leading causes of death in the current generation.
In a post on her Instagram page, Dikeh said drug abuse is ruining lives, tearing families apart and depriving young people of their future, noting that what often begins as curiosity, peer pressure or an attempt to escape emotional pain can gradually develop into dangerous addiction.
The actress called for a change in how society responds to addiction, urging people to replace stigmatisation with compassion and understanding.
She also stressed the need for increased public awareness, education and support for individuals battling substance abuse.
