NIGERIA’S RENA WAKAMA NAMED BEST BASKETBALL COACH AT PARIS OLYMPICS

Head coach of Nigeria’s D’Tigress, Rena Wakama has been named the best coach in the women’s basketball event at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The International Basketball Federation, FIBA announced the prestigious accolade yesterday during the concluding ceremony of the Olympic event.

The 32 year old Wakama led D’Tigress to the quarterfinals in the women’s basketball event after defeating world’s top ranked teams, Australia and Canada.

However, the African champions bowed out to USA in the quarterfinals of the Olympics.

 Nigeria’s D’Tigress made history as the first African team, male or female, to reach the quarterfinals in the history of the Olympics.
