The Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL), has issued the inter Lagos football club a heavy sanction following multiple breaches during their Matchday 7 fixture against Katsina United.
The NPFL in a statement said the inter Lagos has been fined 5.2 million naira for failing to provide adequate security at the venue of the match and for allowing unauthorized persons access to restricted areas which led to the alleged attack on match officials.
In addition to the sanction, three points and three goals of the club will be deducted from their accrued points for assaulting and causing injury to the first assistant referee.
Following the sanction, the NPFL has given a 48 hour ultimatum from the date of the notice to appeal the sanction.
