The Nigerian government has banned singer EEDRIS ABDULKAREEM’S new protest song, ‘Tell Your Papa.’, which directly addresses President BOLATINUBU’S son, SEYI TINUBU, urging him to speak to his father about the hardships faced by Nigerians.

Announcing the ban yesterday  evening, the Federal Government, through the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, stated that the song is inappropriate and offensive , directingNigerian radio and television stations to refrain from airing the song.

Reacting to the ban, ABDULKAREEMdescribed the Nigerian government’s actions as an attempt to silence the truth and suppress criticism.

While likening the ban to the 2004 censorship of his iconic protest song Jaga Jaga, the singer accused President BOLA TINUBU’Sadministration of being “insensitive and vindictive.”
