LIYA EXPLAINS WHY SHE LEFT DAVIDO MUSIC WORLDWIDE

Nigerian singer, ABDULSALAM MODASOLA, popularly known as LIYA, has revealed that her decision to leave Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) label was driven by a desire for personal and professional growth.

Speaking during an interview, LIYA, who became the first female artiste signed to DAVIDO’S record label in October 2020, and parted ways with the label in 2023, disclosed that her time at the label came with emotional challenges that significantly affected her wellbeing.

According to her, the period was marked by depression, exhaustion and health struggles, which ultimately pushed her to make the difficult decision to step away.

Despite the difficulties, the singer expressed gratitude to her manager for his patience and support throughout the period.
