The Labor Party and its presidential candidate Peter Obi have supported the request by the People’s Democratic Party PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for a live broadcast of the proceedings of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

Counsel to the Labor Party and its presidential candidate, Livy Uzuokwu made this known yesterday after the court adjourned pre-hearing sessions in their petition challenging the election of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Bola Tinubu.

Uzuokwu said it was very necessary to have a live broadcast of the proceedings so that Nigerians would have first-hand information on what goes on at the court and clear doubts in the minds of millions of Nigerians.

He claimed that the courtroom cannot conveniently accommodate 200 people, even as the 200 people cannot adequately represent Nigerians, adding that if the proceedings are broadcast live, Nigerians would be better informed.

Meanwhile, the tribunal has shifted further pre-hearing sessions in the petition of LP and Obi to May 17 to enable them to consolidate processes filed so far and those yet to be filed.
