INEC TO PUBLISH FINAL VOTER REGISTER ON DECEMBER 15.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has said it will certify and release the final register of voters on December 15, 2026.

In a statement by the Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna, INEC said the process was in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026.

Providing an update on the display of the preliminary voter register ahead of the 2027 general elections, the commission explained that the preliminary register was displayed physically at Registration Areas nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026, allowing registered voters to verify their details and submit claims or objections as provided by law.

INEC also acknowledged concerns raised by Nigerians and other stakeholders over the need to make the register available on its online platform in addition to the physical display already conducted.
