The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced that it will commence the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, to eligible registered voters within the next three days.

Chairman of the Commission, Professor JOASH AMUPITAN, disclosed this during a strategic engagement meeting with newsmen in Abuja, noting that INEC is enhancing its use of technology to prevent stolen, lost or compromised voter cards from being used by unauthorised persons to interfere with the electoral process.

The exercise is expected to enable voters who recently registered, transferred their voting locations or applied for replacement of damaged cards to obtain their PVCs ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to INEC, the distribution forms part of its ongoing preparations to ensure that eligible Nigerians are able to participate in the electoral process.

In addition, AMUPITAN warned political parties and their supporters against disrupting the campaigns, rallies and other activities of rival parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
