Plateau State Governor, CALEB MUTFWANGhas convened a high-level security meeting aimed at strengthening peace and enhancing security across the State.
Speaking after the meeting which brought together heads of security agencies and local government chairmen, the Commissioner of Police, BASSEY EWAH, announced an adjustment to the curfew, which will now run from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with strict enforcement measures in place.
He noted that existing restrictions, including the ban on commercial motorcycles and the regulation of tricycle operations, remain in force and also warned that anyone found violating the curfew or other security directives would be prosecuted as compliance with the law is mandatory.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in the state, HAMISU ANANI, said local government councils are adopting tailored approaches to address security challenges, revealing that each local government area will implement strategies suited to its unique security realities in order to ensure more effective responses.
