The governor of Enugu State,  PETER MBAH, has thrown his support for President BOLA TINUBU’s  fuel subsidy removal agenda, arguing that it was undebatable and inconceivable for anyone to imagine a return to what he described as  “ old order”.

Governor MBAH  made the remark during the  “Meet the Candidates” town hall meeting held in Enugu noting that the reintroduction of fuel subsidy will do the country no good.

He also emphasized that the removal of fuel subsidy would incur a high rate of poverty in the country and further decline the value of the country’s currency, urging the nation to focus on encouraging private capital flow.

The Enugu State Governor maintained that whereas fuel subsidy removal enables the government to target the less privileged, fuel subsidy as earlier practiced benefited the rich more.
