FIFA DENIES DECISION ON 2030WORLD CUP FINAL VENUE

FIFA has stated that it will announce the venue for the 2030 World Cup final in due course after Moroccan football federation president FOUZI LEKJAA said the decisive match would be played in Morocco.

Morocco, Spain and Portugal will jointly host the tournament, while Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu and a proposed 115,000-capacity stadium in Benslimane, near Casablanca, are regarded as the leading options for the final.

LEKJAA had announced that Benslimane would host the final, insisting that the match would be held there despite any opposition.

However, FIFA in a statement today said the venue had not yet been decided, stressing that the governing body would make the announcement at the appropriate time.
