Afrobeats star DAVIDO has voiced concerns over poor governance, injustice and the prolonged hardship facing Nigerians, stressing the need for urgent positive transformation in the country.
During an interview, the singer reflected on the 2020 EndSARS protests, noting that he had initially hoped the demonstrations would usher in meaningful change but later became disillusioned as Nigerians returned to their usual activities.
DAVIDO criticised individuals who claim to champion the interests of the people but abandon their commitments after gaining political power, maintaining that meaningful societal change must begin with a shift in the people’s collective mindset.
The singer also revealed that despite his privileged and influential background, he remains afraid of losing his life, emphasising that Nigeria requires fundamental changes in both its political leadership and citizenry.
