With the release of his most recent single, Modupe, well-known singer-songwriter Crayon, who is associated with Mavin Records and Blowtime Ent, has pleased fans.
The fascinating single, Modupe—which in Yoruba language means “I give thanks”—provides a musical preview of the song’s core.
As seen by lines like “I got only one life o, make I just dey jogodo jogodo till I go kpai o,” the singer is aware that life is YOLO and intends to enjoy it to the utmost. The catchy hook of Crayon perfectly captures the essence of the song. He expresses gratitude for his unique existence and his resolve to enthusiastically embrace all of life’s experiences.
While beginning a new chapter in Crayon’s life, Modupe also offers a quick look back at his former adventures. He says, “All the people wey I shank yeah, all the barnies wey I reckless, we had such a good time, but the chapter ends here.” He admits the people he could have harmed, the crazy things he’s done, and the happy times he’s enjoyed.
Modupe, a song produced by the renowned hitmaker Andre Vibez, follows Crayon’s first tune of the year, The One (Chop Life), which featured the Mozambican duo Yaba Buluku Boyz.
