ATIKU DEFEATS AMAECHI ANDHAYATUDDEEN IN SOKOTO ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY

Former Vice-President and presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), ATIKU ABUBAKAR, has emerged victorious in the party’s presidential primary election held across the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State.

The results of the exercise were officially announced yesterday by the state Chief Returning Officer, Prof. AMINU ABUBAKAR, who declared ATIKU the winner after securing over 68,823 votes to defeat his closest rivals in the contest, MUHAMMAD HAYATUDDEEN who polled 319 votes, while former Minister of Transportation, ROTIMI AMAECHI, secured 292 votes.

Meanwhile, in Ebonyi state, AMAECHI,scored 6,050 votes to defeat ATIKU ABUBAKAR and MUHAMMAD HAYATUDDEEN who got 1,210 votes and 4,840 votes respectively in the ADC presidential primary.
