The Nigerian Army has declared the Governor of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), ABU MUSA, and his deputy, MUHAMMAD JIDDA, wanted after they were identified through forensic examination of technical devices recovered during recent military operations in the Lake Chad region.
The Acting Military Information Officer of the Northeast Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, MUHAMMED GONI, disclosed this in a statement issued yesterday, noting that the recovered devices provided high-value intelligence on senior ISWAP commanders.
GONI said the intelligence led to the identification of several terrorist leaders operating within the Mangari–Metele–Dogon Chukun axis in Abadam and Kukawa Local Government Areas of Borno State, including ABU HANIFA.
He added that Operation Hadin Kai has announced a substantial financial reward for credible information that will lead to the arrest of MUSA, while assuring the public that the identities of informants would be treated with strict confidentiality.
According to the statement, a bounty of 50 million naira has also been placed on IBN MUHAMMAD, commander of the Amniyya unit, and 10 million naira on JIDDA, while members of the public were urged to provide credible information through established security channels and warned not to confront the suspects.
