APGA RELEASES 2027 PRIMARY ELECTION TIMETABLE

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has released its provisional timetable and schedule of activities for the party’s primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In  a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, EJIMOFOR OPARA, the timetable aligns with the revised schedule issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission on February 26, 2026, and is in accordance with the provisions of the APGA Constitution (2019) and the Electoral Act 2026.

The party outlined key dates for its primary process including; the sale and return of expression of interest forms which will run from April 20 to May 8,  screening of aspirants follows, with National Assembly hopefuls scheduled for May 11, State House of Assembly aspirants on May 12, and governorship aspirants on May 13, while the sale and submission of nomination forms will take place between May 14 and May 21.

The party further announced the fees for the expression of interest forms saying that presidential aspirants will pay ₦25 million, governorship aspirants ₦10 million, senatorial aspirants ₦6 million, House of Representatives aspirants ₦4 million, and State House of Assembly aspirants ₦2 million.

Meanwhile, all primary elections will be conducted on May 23, 2026, using the Option A4 voting system, while appeals arising from the primaries will be addressed on May 28, 2026.
