The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has heightened surveillance and preparedness measures across points of entry and health facilities nationwide. This follows the confirmation of an imported case of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Kenya linked to the ongoing regional outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

In a public health advisory issued by the NCDC Director-General, Dr. Jide Idris, the agency confirmed that there is currently no confirmed case of Ebola in Nigeria. However, the increased cross-border movement across the African continent has prompted proactive measures to prevent potential importation.
The NCDC advises all international travelers arriving from areas with active Ebola transmission to carefully monitor their health for 21 days. Anyone experiencing compatible symptoms is urged to isolate immediately and contact public health authorities through official channels rather than visiting crowded clinics.
Citizens are further advised to avoid spreading unverified rumors and rely strictly on official updates from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the NCDC.
