Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, has issued a firm call for the fundamental restructuring of the United Nations, arguing that the global order can no longer rely on power dynamics established over eight decades ago.

Delivering Nigeria’s national address during the General Debate, Vice President Shettima declared that the world of 2026 cannot remain captive to the post-World War II distribution of power forged in 1945.
