Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate, RUFAI HANGA, has formally withdrawn his membership from the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), just months after joining the party following its registration.
In a resignation letter dated August 3 and addressed to the NDC Ward Chairman in Najeria Ward, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, HANGA stated that his resignation takes effect immediately.
Recall that the lawmaker defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the NDC alongside his political leader, RABIU KWANKWASO, after the party secured registration.
According to HANGA, his decision to leave the party came after careful reflection and personal deliberation, as he plans to focus on other personal commitments and career pursuits.
He expressed appreciation to the ward executive committee and members of the party for their support, requested that his name be removed from the party’s membership register, and wished the NDC and its members success in their future endeavours.
