POLICE INTENSIFY CRACKDOWN AND ARREST 14 SUSPECTS IN ENUGU STATE

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested 14 suspects in two intelligence-led operations targeting cultism and other criminal activities, recovering two firearms, three live cartridges and other incriminating exhibits.

The Command, in a statement by its spokesperson, DANIEL NDUKWE, said the suspects were arrested during separate operations in Isi-Uzo and Ezeagu Local Government Areas on July 26, 2026.

According to the statement, one locally fabricated single-barrel pistol was recovered in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo, while a pump-action gun loaded with three live cartridges was recovered during the Ezeagu operation.

The police said investigations are ongoing, with efforts intensified to apprehend other fleeing suspects and recover more exhibits, adding that all those arrested will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.

The Commissioner of Police, BITRUS GIWA, commended the operatives for the successful operations and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling cultism, armed robbery and other violent crimes across the State.
