U.S SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERSARRESTED IN MIAMI OVER NEW CRIMINAL CHARGES

Social media influencers, ANDREW TATE and his brother, TRISTAN TATE, have been arrested in Miami, Florida, following an extradition request from the United Kingdom over fresh allegations including rape, sex trafficking and assault.

The United States Marshals Service confirmed the brothers were taken into custody on Saturday but declined to disclose the specific charges, saying the arrest warrant remains under seal. 

Confirming that extradition proceedings are underway,  the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in a statement, said ANDREW TATEfaces seven additional counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 further offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography, while TRISTAN TATE has been charged with two counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and one count of sexual assault. 

The brothers now face a combined total of 59 criminal charges, for alleged offences said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017 and involve seven alleged victims. 

Head of the CPS Special Crime Division, MALCOLM MCHAFFIE, said the new charges followed the receipt of additional evidence from Bedfordshire Police, increasing the total number of alleged victims in the case to seven and further confirmed that prosecutors would pursue the brothers’ extradition to the UK to stand trial.
