The Presidency has dismissed claims by the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, PETER OBI, that his safety is under threat ahead of the 2027 general election, describing the allegations as false and misleading.

In a statement posted on X, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, BAYO ONANUGA, accused OBI of making baseless allegations in an attempt to attract public sympathy.

ONANUGA rejected OBI’s account of an incident involving his vehicle at an airport, maintaining that, based on the former presidential candidate’s own narration, the issue resulted from a violation of parking regulations rather than any action by the government.

The presidential aide also dismissed OBI’s claim that he might not be alive to participate in the 2027 election, as well as his allegation that people were being pressured not to invite him to social events.
