Veteran Nigerian musician and political activist, CHARLES OPUTA, popularly known as CHARLY BOY, has spoken openly about the realities of remaining married for nearly five decades, admitting that long-term marriages are not always exciting.
Speaking during an interview, the outspoken singer and social commentator said marriage is largely about managing differences and learning to coexist despite disagreements.
Reflecting on his relationship with his wife, whom he has been married to for almost 48 years, CHARLY BOY said disagreements are still a regular part of their marriage but noted that they always find ways to resolve their differences.
The activist stated that disagreements are unavoidable in any marriage, stressing that what is most important is the willingness of both partners to settle their differences and move forward.
He also acknowledged that spending decades with the same person can sometimes become repetitive.
