DON JAZZY REVEALS ORIGIN OF HIT SONG, DOROBUCCI.

The founder of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy has revealed the origin of the 2014 hit, Dorobucci, stating that it was created from a spontaneous moment during Tiwa Savage’s wedding in Dubai.

In a recent interview, the producer explained that while dressed in a suit for the occasion, he introduced himself to guests as Don Dorobucci, a name which he said circulated among guests and later gained wider attention after he posted a freestyle on Instagram. 

He said the viral response sparked a dance challenge across Nigeria, which eventually pushed him to turn the freestyle into a full song.

Released under the Mavin crew, the Dorobucci song which featured Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, D’Prince, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, and Di’Ja, became one of the most played Afrobeats songs of its time and remained popular at events years after its release.
