The Ghana Football Association has announced the appointment of CARLOS QUEIROZ as the new head coach of the senior national team..
The decision was confirmed in a statement released yesterday, with the association highlighting QUEIROZ’S vast experience at the highest level of international football.
The Portuguese tactician led South Africa national football team to qualification for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, guided Portugal national football team to the knockout stage in 2010, and coached Iran national football team at the 2014 and 2018 tournaments.
QUEIROZ has also held coaching roles with top sides and national teams, including Real Madrid, Manchester United, as well as the national teams of Egypt, Oman, Japan, and Qatar, building a distinguished managerial career.
He is expected to assume duties immediately as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
