The Inspector-General of Police, KAYODE EGBETOKUN, has promised to ensure larger representation of women police officers in strategic, operational, and command roles.
EGBETOKUN made the pledge in Abuja at an event to mark 70 years of women policing in Nigeria, saying that the Nigeria Police Force was proud of its women and would continue to shun discrimination, harassment, or career obstruction against them.
He highlighted that the celebration was a legacy born in 1955, that began quietly and had grown into one of the strongest voices in Nigerian security history, while emphasizing that the journey of the women officers is a reflection on the resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment of Nigerian women to national service.
