The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), NYESOM WIKE, and his entourage were on Tuesday stopped by soldiers from gaining access to a parcel of land in the Gaduwa District of Abuja.
WIKE, visibly displeased with the development, engaged the soldiers in a heated exchange, questioning their presence on the land or their authority to block access to the site, insisting that no one was above the law..
The minister further alleged that the land’s development did not follow due process, claiming that there was no legal document in the records of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) allocating the property.
Vowing to address the situation, WIKE stated that such actions would not be tolerated under his administration.
However, the soldiers reportedly refused to vacate the area, insisting they were acting on directives from a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral ZUBAIRU GAMBO.
