NRC ANNOUNCES RESUMPTION OF WARRI–ITAKPE TRAIN SERVICE

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) will resume operations on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, following a period of temporary suspension for essential maintenance and system checks. 

The NRC spokesperson, CALLISTUS UNYIMADU, confirmed that the online booking portal would reopen today 27th October 2025, ahead of the resumption date, and encouraged passengers to secure their tickets through the website or designated stations. 

NRC said the resumption aligns with NRC’s commitment to providing safe and efficient train services while adhering to the highest operational standards. 

The temporary suspension was necessary to carry out critical repairs, system checks, and maintenance on the tracks and rolling stock, ensuring passenger safety and service reliability.
