MALTA TO FORMALLY RECOGNISE PALESTINIAN STATE

Malta’s Prime Minister Robert Abela, is set to announce the country’s formal recognition of a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Other countries such as Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal recognized the Palestinian state yesterday, in a move intended to promote a two-state solution to end the war in Gaza.

Abela, first announced plans for the recognition of a Palestinian state in May during the postponed United Nations conference.
