Nigerian Media Personality, Toke Makinwa has encouraged unmarried women and those yet to have children not to allow societal expectations to determine their value.

The 40-year-old, who recently welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana, expressed her thoughts in a heartfelt lengthy Instagram post, emphasizing that marriage and motherhood should not be regarded as the ultimate measures of a woman’s fulfillment.

Makinwa also shared screenshots of hurtful comments from online trolls, expressing gratitude for God’s timing, stressing that despite enduring years of public criticism about her marital status and not having children, she has now experienced the joy of motherhood at the right moment.

She encouraged women to prioritize personal growth, ignore societal pressure, and trust in God’s plan.
