Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo.

The 51-year-old, who signed a new contract this summer after leading Forest to the Europa League, admitted in August that his relationship with co-owner, Evangelos Marinakis was no longer as strong or positive as it had been the previous season.

In a statement released last night, Forest expressed gratitude to Nuno for his role in what they described as a highly successful period at the City Ground, adding that he would always be remembered as a special part of their story.

He departs the City Ground a little less than two years after his appointment in December 2023 following the dismissal of Steve Cooper.

Nuno led Nottingham Forest to a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, their best result since 1994-1995, securing European qualification for the first time in 30 years.
