In a joint effort to promote humanitarian service, the Nigerian Red Cross Society and the Obiebere Chukwu Agwu Health Mission Foundation have trained 50 individuals on emergency health response and safety measures at Agwu Town, Agwu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The Enugu Branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, TONY UDEGBULU, alongside certified Red Cross trainer, KIZITO UZOOMA, conducted a comprehensive training session on life-saving skills which includes; Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), management of choking individuals and general first aid techniques.
The coordinator of the Obiebere Chukwu Agwu Health Mission Foundation, FR. EMMANUEL ANI expressed satisfaction with the training exercises, describing the training as a life-changing initiatives that will significantly enhance life-saving efforts in communities and in everyday situations.
Speaking during the event, the Parish Priest of Agwu Catholic Parish, FR. KINGSLEY UDE, commended the organizers of the programme and the collaborative bodies, urging the participants to make good use of the training they received to improve themselves and contribute positively to society.
Some of the Participants, OKOH FRANCIS and BLESSING ANIOKWU expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Obiebere Foundation and its partner agencies for organizing the health intervention and safety training in their community.
Urban Radio correspondent, JUDITH OKARA, reports that other notable participants present at the event included; the Chairman of the programme Prof LEONARD AJAH ,Obiebere foundation Administrative Secretary, ANIUDE KINGSLEY, experts from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria Fire, Rescue and Safety Department among others.
