Nigerian international and Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface will be unavailable for today’s Champions League match against Brest due to a recent car accident.

Boniface was involved in an accident on Sunday in Germany, when the car he was in collided with a truck and also shared images and a video on social media showing a black Mercedes with a damaged chassis along with photos of his blood-soaked arm.

It was reported that the striker skipped training in Leverkusen and was not on the plane that left for France yesterday afternoon.

Leverkusen sporting director, Simon Rolfes said Boniface avoided serious injury, but his availability for the upcoming match was still uncertain, adding that it was not easy for him as he needed time to recover.

Boniface has scored seven goals in 10 games in all competitions this season.
